Freeports will bring a boost to economic
activity in their designated areas
The UK Government’s Freeports initiative is expected to bring a significant boost to the eight respective designated English Freeports including the Humber.
The Humber is already home to the UK’S busiest port complex which includes the ports of Hull ,Immingham, Grimsby and Goole Combined these ports already handle some 17% of UK trade.
Yorkshire Energy Park is one of the three designated Hull East Tax Sites sitting within the Humber Freeport with other sites set to be formally designated in Goole and on the south bank.
A package of financial benefits will be available to encourage new investment and development in these areas on conclusion of the formal establishment of the Humber Freeport Company later this year, with the intention of stimulating inward investment into the area and the broader Humber region.
